WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF THE LONDON YOUNG LAWYERS' GROUP

The London Young Lawyers' Group (LYLG) is the association formerly known as the London Trainee Solicitors' Group. The name and membership criteria were changed to anticipate changes in the representative groups at a national level. As of January 2008, the LYLG works in association with the new Junior Lawyers Division. All law students, trainees and solicitors up to 5 years PQE in the London area are eligible to join for a modest annual fee.
The objective of the London Young Lawyers' Group is two-fold. Firstly, we aim to organise rendezvous and events on a monthly basis for our members. Our members come from a wide variety of law schools, firms and backgrounds; from the smallest firms, to the Magic Circle. Secondly, we aim to provide a support network and a voice for our members as and when required.
In particular, our events allow our members to get together with people at the same stage in their careers, and to get to know colleagues in an informal environment, usually over a few complimentary drinks.
We hope that membership makes the whole experience of living in London, and finding and starting a training contract less daunting. We also provide support and assistance in a variety of ways, particularly to trainees and young solicitors at smaller firms: our meetings provide an ideal forum to get together with others.
We are here to provide a service to LYLG members so if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions, please get in touch and we will do our best to help.
The message is: get involved!
