Jude Perkins, Chair

Jude Perkins has been elected to the post of Chair of the LYLG for the second year running.  She was Events Co-ordinator in 2005/2006.  Jude’s role of Chair involves negotiating sponsorship deals and raising the profile of the LYLG both in the UK and overseas.  Jude helps to forge links with other legal associations such as the American Bar Association and the European Young Bar Association.  Jude also liaises closely with all of the LYLG committee, and in particular the Events team regarding the timetable of events for the group.  Jude is the first point of contact for any general problems or queries LYLG members, or those considering LYLG membership, may have.  Jude is delighted to be chairing the group during the 2007/2008 year.

Jude qualified in September 2006, and practices insurance and reinsurance litigation (specialising in professional indemnity work) at city law firm Elborne Mitchell.  When she isn’t doing lawyerly things Jude treads the boards in amateur theatre productions across London.

Victoria Lee, Vice-Chair

Victoria is the new Vice-Chair, having been Events Co-ordinator last year.

After graduating from Bristol with a Law degree in 2003, she enjoyed a couple of wild gap years and a stint doing the LPC at BPP Law School before ending up at Rooks Rider Solicitors in Clerkenwell, where she is currently a second year trainee.   

 

 

 

 

Ed Sanguinetti, Website & Publicity Officer

Ed qualified as a company commercial solicitor in October 2006.  He is currently working at Goodman Derrick LLP.

Ed was Vice-Chair for two years from 2005-2007 but has stepped down to concentrate on the maintenance of the website and liaising with legal and other publications to promote the LYLG and advertise its events.

 

 

 

Annalisa Checchi, Treasurer

Annalisa has been involved in the London Trainee Solicitors’ Group since September 2003, her first event involvement being one of the annual pool competitions. Annalisa’s first role was Secretary, assisting the Chair running the committee meetings, carrying out administrative tasks, helping out with raising sponsorship and hosting of all the events including co-ordinating guests lists with the Events Officer.  Annalisa built a comprehensive database of all the firms authorised to train so that the LTSG could reach all firms regardless of their size. Annalisa was Chair of LTSG for 2 years from 2004-2006. 

Annalisa also sits on the European Young Bar Association committee.

 

 

 

Peter Impey, Secretary

Peter qualified in September 2007 and is a solicitor at Denton Wilde Sapte.

In his second year as Secretary, Peter is responsible for keeping a record of the business discussed at meetings of the Executive Committee and at the Annual General Meeting of the LYLG. Peter also has responsibility for the general administration of the LYLG and acts as returning officer for the Annual General Meeting.

 

 

 

 Kate Richardson, Events Co-Ordinator

Kate Richardson will be in overall control of organising the LYLG’s events this year. 2007-8 will be Kate’s second year on the LYLG Committee.

Kate is a trainee at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain.

 

 

 

 

Allan Millington, Sponsorship Officer

Allan read Law and Japanese at university and spent two years studying in Tokyo. He then continued his studies in International Relations and International Economics at the Johns Hopkins University, The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna, Italy. On graduation he then spent three years working for local government in Japan. 

On returning to the UK, he completed his LPC at the Inns of Court School of Law and began his training contract with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, a US firm, in London in 2007.

Allan is actively seeking new avenues for sponsorship for the London Young Lawyers' Group. Please contact him if you would like to discuss sponsorship or request more information about the extensive opportunities available.

 

 

Clara McMorran, Supporting Events Co-ordinator

Clara has recently has joined the LYLG Committee and is really excited about the responsibilities that her role as Supporting Events Co-ordinator will bring her over the coming year. A trainee at Abrahams Dresden, Clara enjoys the challenges and experience that working in a city law firm brings. She also undertakes pro bono work at Toynbee Hall where she offers advice for their Employment Law Clinic. Through her involvement with the LYLG Clara will be helping Events Co-ordinator, Kate, whilst also aiming to create greater awareness of the LYLG in the legal community.

 

 

 

Kezia Marriott, Welfare Officer

Kezia is another new member of the LYLG Committee. Kezia will focus on pastoral care, and raising awareness of issues relevant to the LYLG Membership. Kezia will also be the principal point of contact for enquiries about the LYLG Hardship Fund.

Kezia studied politics and sociology at the University of Bristol before taking the GDL and LPC at Guildford College of Law. She is currently a first year trainee at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert.

 

 

Emma Brooks, Committee Member

Emma is a new addition to the LYLG Committee. She will be taking on a general role, and lending her support to all aspects of maintaining and promoting the LYLG.

 

Teresa Sillars, LYLG Administrator

Teresa, of Sillars & Jones Event Management, does a fantastic job carrying out the administration of the group and the sourcing of sponsorship deals. This leaves the committee free to focus on building on the reputation and success of the group.
