CALLING ALL LAW STUDENTS!
This year the LYLG are looking forward to welcoming some GDL and LPC student representatives from BPP and the College of Law to join our current student reps from Manchester University... if you are keen to get involved please use the following form to nominate yourselves! Student Representatives
James Buss - Student at Manchester
James is currently in his second year at the University of Manchester, reading Economics. he hopes to obtain a training contract this summer whilst on vacation scheme, to sponsor him through the GDL and LPC.
James aims to bring a student point of view to the LYLG and to increase the number of student members. In his spare time, he works as a personal trainer and has a keen interest in fitness.
James has joined us from Manchester to help us out with the membership database, and has helpfully been traveling down for all of our LYLG meetings, so thank you James!
Jonathan Child- Student at Manchester
Jonathan is currently a final year student at the University of Manchester studying a business and management degree and hopes to attend law school in London next year. As with most prospective law students, Jonathan is hoping to complete a vacation placement with a large national firm and gain some experience whilst looking for a training contract.
In his spare time Jonathon enjoys both playing and watching rugby and cricket, as well as various non-demanding social activities such as theatre and cinema. He also enjoys be part of the LYLG as he considers it to be an easy going, professional orgainisation that will help him to broaden his knowledge of the legal industry.

Miranda Hearn - Assistant Events Coordinator
Miranda graduated from University College London in 2006 and then worked for two years for civil liberties firm Deighton
Guedalla whilst studying the Graduate Diploma in Law part-time at BPP Law School. She has since moved to the City and now works as a paralegal at shipping law firm Waterson Hicks. She intends to do the LPC and qualify as a solicitor.
Miranda gained experience of events management whilst on the committee of Young Legal Aid Lawyers. She looks forward to supporting Events Coordinator Laura with this year's speed dating, summer drinks, ball and other LYLG events. Miranda is also interested in organising regular after-work seminars in 2010 and is interested to know what topics members would like to hear about.Please e-mail her with your suggestions!
